32 Seniors Earn Scholarships
Posted on 06/09/2022

Thirty-two graduating seniors from 10 area high schools earned scholarships and recognition awards during this year’s CTE Senior Awards Ceremony on June 9. The 21 awards celebrated students who showed outstanding academics, technical skills and potential for industry success.

Teachers, administrators, families and district representatives joined students for a traditional, in-person ceremony in the Rossetti Courtyard. Sponsors of many of the scholarships were on hand to present the awards to student recipients.

As a special presentation during the ceremony, the Rural Schools Association presented the New Visions Engineering senior class, taught by Keith Pitman, with a 1st Place Runner Up prize for their entry into the statewide RSA 2022 Student Video Contest. The student-produced video highlighted the value of a CTE education at MOBOCES.

MOBOCES Board Vice President Doug Gustin also serves as the Chairman of the RSA Board and presented the award to the primary videographers - Maya Tucci and Chase Moore, of Canastota; Mikah Albro, of Oneida; and Leo Jayson III and Reilly Gardner, of Stockbridge Valley.

Gustin also presented a 2nd Place Finalist commendation to the Cosmetology junior class taught by Casie Kolenda. Their video focused on the welcoming atmosphere and community spirit of MOBOCES.
