Duties: The successful candidate will perform functions auxiliary to the Labor Relations Department including, but not limited to the research and formulation of policy; research of PERB cases; review of existing contracts, practices, and arbitration decisions; preparation of memoranda and fact-finding briefs; review and analysis of draft contract language and policy in order to aid negotiation preparation and board policy development. The Associate will supervise clerical staff.
Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Business Administration/Secretarial Science or related and at least two years of experience providing support services to a personnel-labor relations service or in an office that primarily deals with labor contract issues. Special consideration given to paralegal education or work experience.
Civil Service position subject to exam.
