IN ANTICIPATION OF NEED
Duties: Serves as a chief negotiator for participating school districts. Represents participating school districts in such matters as personnel, employee relations, disciplinary proceedings, investigation of employment discrimination claims and administration of collective bargaining agreements. Analyzes trends in existing employment, wage and salary practices. Plans and conducts workshops and seminars for administrative personnel. Consults with, interprets, and develops policies and procedures for school boards of education. Also serves as school attorney.
Qualifications: Possession of JD. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience in collective bargaining, preferably in the public sector, familiarity with federal and state law governing employee relations and the operations of school districts, knowledge of computerized database programs and general knowledge of Windows/Word software programs required. Three to five years of experience as a practicing attorney, experience in public sector labor law preferred.
