Duties: The Virtual Learning Specialist will be responsible for providing professional development related to online/distance learning needs, cultivating strong vendor partner relationships, and assisting in operations for our regional Virtual Learning Service (VLS). Candidates should possess a strong background in instructional design and development to effectively support the needs of online/distance learning across the region.
Typical Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Professional development for school districts leaders, teachers, and staff to enhance their understanding of virtual learning practices and strategies.
- Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with vendors and partners whose services complement our virtual learning solutions
- Provide guidance and support to students and families participating in virtual/distance learning services.
- Collaborate with other team members to enhance the quality of educational materials
- Offer support and troubleshooting assistance to school districts, educators and students as they engage with virtual learning platforms.
Job may require travel between school districts for training and support within a five-county radius (Madison, Oneida, Herkimer, Jefferson, and Lewis Counties).
Qualifications: NYS Teacher Certification required. Knowledge, experience, and successful virtual/online learning implementation, instructional technology, and NYS Teaching & Learning Standards preferred.
