School Library System Grants Due
The Madison-Oneida School Library System offers several grant opportunities for our school libraries. These mini-grants aim:
- To provide school library outreach services to students, staff and community members outside of normal school hours or
- To assist a School Library Media Specialist to gain professional growth and leadership skills by attending a School Library Media-related conference.
The guidelines and application form explain the procedures to be followed. The deadline for the applications is the first Friday of each month beginning in October and ending in March or until funds are depleted.
We are interested in encouraging a variety of activities. Some schools may focus on technology and electronic resources, parent involvement, preschoolers, reading, media, etc. Some schools might plan a one-time event or a series of activities. The funds can also be used for attendance at a state or national conference. The NYLA/SLMS Spring Conference would be an excellent event to attend.
