Student Activities

Students have opportunities to participate in several extracurricular activities through their CTE programs to help develop their technical and leadership skills, provide community service experiences, earn industry recognitions, and build their college and career resumes.

SkillsUSA

SkillsUSA is an international workforce development organization for students pursuing career and technical education pathways. The MOBOCES chapter prepares students for regional and state competitions focused on technical, industry, leadership and communication skills, and students engage in a number of leadership and community service activities throughout the year. Visit the NYS SkillsUSA website or contact our chapter advisers at 315-361-5700 for more information.

National Technical Honor Society

National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) recognizes outstanding CTE students who maintain a high grade point average in both their CTE program and their traditional high school courses. To be selected for membership, students must also maintain a strong record of attendance, demonstrate outstanding character and leadership qualities, and secure an endorsement of their CTE teacher. NTHS membership is a distinction achieved by only 3-4% of CTE students nationwide. Visit the NTHS website or contact the MOBOCES chapter advisers at 315-361-5700.

Student Ambassadors

Students invited to join our Ambassadors program help represent MOBOCES and the CTE program as a whole at public events, including our two Open House nights. Ambassadors are positive role models, demonstrate academic excellence, and have strong communication and planning skills. Contact our CTE Outreach Coordinator at 315-361-5700 for more information.
