Enrollment Information
How do I enroll in a CTE class?
Our CTE enrollment portal opens in the spring for high school guidance counselors to enroll students for the following school year. Students should speak with their counselors in advance about which CTE program is right for them.
How do I learn about your programs?
We do extensive outreach about our CTE programs:
- All 8th graders from our component school districts visit our campus and explore our CTE center in large groups. They’ll have an opportunity to hear from and ask questions to program coordinators, current students and instructors.
- All 10th graders from our component school districts attend an in-school assembly to learn about our two-year CTE program options, course requirements and enrollment processes. Students interested in enrolling for their junior year should speak with their high school guidance counselor.
- Any 11th graders interested in our one-year, senior-only New Visions programs can attend an informational event during the winter of their junior year and/or visit our New Visions webpage for specifics on programs and application requirements. Students should also speak with their high school guidance counselor.
How much does it cost to attend your school?
CTE classes are offered at no cost to students and families. BOCES works directly with local school districts on enrollment.
What about the high school classes I will be missing?
All of our CTE classes integrate core academics into their curriculum, so students continue to earn credits toward high school graduation through their programs. Many of our classes also offer college credits and industry certifications to support students in their post-graduation plans.
What if I still have more questions?
- You can visit our program-specific webpages within this site.
- Attend one of our Open House events, held each fall and spring. This event showcases student work and features a college and career fair with representatives from industry, higher education and the military available to answer questions.
- Contact our CTE Outreach Coordinator at 315-361-5700.
- Some students are able to attend a small group or individual visit to a specific program by request. Please speak with your high school guidance counselor about this option.
