Calling all creative minds and fashion trendsetters: Check out how our Cosmetology program is the perfect fit for you!

Our cosmetology program prepares students for careers in fashion, beauty, business and more. Throughout the two-year program, students gain direct hands-on experience in our fully equipped lab and beauty salon while learning the latest techniques in hair cutting and styling, nail care, skin care, waxing, inventory and customer service skills. Students also complete a Salon Management Project, providing additional applied learning experience to help stand out when entering the workforce.

The program also prepares students for the NYS Board Licensing Exam, which includes a summer session.

What Students Learn

The Cosmetology program helps students develop a comprehensive understanding of the field through the study of:

Course Credits

Upon completion of this two-year program, students will earn a total of 7.5 integrated high school credits:

  • 3 Units of CTE
  • 1 Unit each of English 12, Math, and Science
  • 1 Unit of Government & Economics
  • .5 Unit of Career & Financial Management

Eligible for NYSED’s 4+1 Graduation Option:

  • Students who complete the required 1,000 hours of theory and clinical experience are eligible to take the NYS Licensing Exam, which qualifies them to work in a professional salon setting.
