Information Technology

The Information Technology (I.T.) Systems/Cisco Networking program prepares students for information technology careers by applying learning to real-world experiences.

Through this two-year program, students learn how to successfully install, maintain, and repair computer networks and hardware/software upgrades through hands-on projects such as building networks, troubleshooting, and setting up wide-area networks.

The program also focuses on teaching important skills in the field, including project management, complex problem solving, teamwork, interpersonal communication, and customer service.

*Careers in IT require two- and four-year college degrees to be competitive in the job market.

Course Credits

Upon completion of this two-year program, students will earn a total of 7.5 integrated high school credits:

  • 3 Units of CTE
  • 1 Unit each of English 12, Math 11, and Science 11
  • 1 Unit of Government and Economics
  • .5 Unit of Career and Financial Management

*This program is also eligible for NYSED’s 4+1 Graduation Option
