Health Related Careers NEW
Health Related Careers prepares students for a variety of career options within the healthcare field. The course provides a broad foundation of theory and practical skills from the health science and nurse assisting curriculum, enabling students to pursue entry-level employment or continuing education after graduation. The hands-on clinical portion of the program allows the students to provide patient care at a local care facilities and determine if the field is right for them.
Students who complete the required 432 total hours, with a minimum of 108 supervised clinical hours, are eligible to take the NYS exam for their Nurse Assisting certification. Students planning to continue on to a college healthcare program should also have successfully completed Regents Chemistry and Regents Biology at their home school.
This program is based on the main Verona campus.

Students must wear the program uniform and sneakers, and they must have a watch with a second hand.

Course Credits
Upon completion of this two-year program, students will earn a total of 7.5 integrated high school credits:
- 3 Units of CTE
- 1 Unit each of English 12, Math 11, and Science 11
- 1 Unit of Government & Economics
- .5 Unit of Career & Financial Management
