Community Based Occupational Education
Community Based Occupational Education (CBOE) is a program for students between ages 14-21 with disabilities who need individualized training provided at a slower rate with repetitive reinforcement. The objective is to develop the skills needed for self-care and participation in sheltered work programs or day-habilitation. In addition, students are taught collaboration, employability, self-advocacy and independent living skills in preparation for post-secondary success.
Placement is through the student’s home district Committee on Special Education (CSE). This program is located on the main Verona campus.

Many students who complete CBOE find postsecondary success in supported employment settings and day-habilitation programs.
Course Credits
Students enrolled in Community Based Occupational Education can earn 3 Units of CTE credit each year, as well as work-based learning hours.
