Duties:  Duties include direct instruction, testing/assessment, maintaining accurate record keeping and accountability for student achievement and retention.  Seeking candidates with experience teaching and ability to work with a diverse adult population to deliver basic academic skill instruction as well as high school equivalency preparation; comfortable teaching adults who may have learning difficulties.  Candidates must be self-disciplined and able to work within a team and independently. Must commit to attending 14 hours of paid Professional Development through the Regional Adult Education Network (RAEN) per year.

Qualifications:  Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Education; NYS Teacher Certification or eligible for Adult Education Certification preferred. 

Location of Position:  Utica ACCESS Site, 508 Second St, Utica NY

Term of Employment:  Part time Evenings - 7 hrs. week - Monday and Wednesday evenings - 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Salary:  Range: $24 - $29 per hour depending on experience and certification

Starting Date:  August 2025
