Duties & Responsibilities: 

1. Serve as a professional role model for students in the clinical setting.
2. Complete and monitor all forms related to Practical Nursing (PN) clinical experiences.
3. Complete any required training provided by the clinical facility.
4. Orient students to the clinical facility, staff, policies, and assigned unit.
5. Assign patient care activities based on students’ skill level, competencies, and clinical rotation objectives.
6. Remain present on the clinical unit while students are engaged in patient care.
7. Facilitate pre- and post-clinical conferences to support learning and reflection.
8. Accurately report student attendance, evaluations, and performance feedback.
9. Communicate relevant information, concerns, and updates to the Health Occupations Coordinator.
10. Monitor and verify required student health documentation.
11. Maintain current CPR/AED certification.
12. Ensure compliance with New York State Registered Nurse (RN) licensure requirements.
13. Communicate clinical schedule changes with the clinical facility in a timely manner.
14. Maintain consistency, objectivity, and fairness when evaluating and guiding students.
15. Ensure all student activities remain within the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) scope of practice.
16. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  The qualified candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or actively enrolled in a BSN program. Applicants should have recent experience in medical/surgical and extended care settings, including medication administration. Teaching experience is preferred, along with strong customer service skills, effective verbal communication, and public relations abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred. A pre-employment background check and drug screening may be required.

Location of Position:  BOCES Consortium of Continuing Education, Verona and/or Utica, New York

Term of Employment:  Part-time, Per Diem

Salary:  Contingent upon education and experience.
