Alternative Education Teacher
Duties: An Alternative Education High School Teacher provides individualized, structured instruction to students 18 years of age and older who are significantly behind in high school credits and require an accelerated pathway toward meeting graduation requirements. The teacher will support students through targeted credit recovery, skill development, academic intervention, and individualized learning opportunities while maintaining high expectations for student achievement, attendance, responsibility, and successful completion of high school requirements. The teacher develops engaging, differentiated lessons, monitors student progress, fosters positive relationships, collaborates with staff and families, and supports students in earning course credit and preparing for graduation.
Qualifications: New York State certification in any content area, grade 7-12.
Location of Position: Campus - TriPlexus
Term of Employment: Full Time – 10 month
Salary: $65,913 (Starting salary is based on the minimum step of the Madison-Oneida BOCES Teachers’ Contract. Salary may increase based on verified education and prior experience in accordance with the contract.)
