Completion Ceremony Celebrates Record 531 Students

Madison-Oneida BOCES celebrated 531 students from its Secondary Programs on June 16 at Vernon Downs Grandstand — the largest graduating class in MOBOCES history.
Seniors from the Career and Technical Education, Career Development Academy and Tri Academy were also recognized for meeting their high school graduation requirements.
Families, friends, faculty, administrators, and board members gathered at the outdoor venue to celebrate the Class of 2025. The ceremony opened with a procession of all 531 students, including participants in the new Exercise Science and Livestock Management and Agriculture programs, both completing their inaugural senior class.
Each student was individually acknowledged and presented with a certificate. Marcus Walker, an HVAC student from Rome City School District, led the Pledge of Allegiance, and EleanorAnne Kratz, a Cosmetology student from Camden Central School District delivered the keynote speech.
“We made it through the challenges, the early mornings, the late nights, and the moments when we weren't sure we'd get here, and we did it together… We gained more than technical skills; we gained confidence, friendships, and a stronger sense of who we are,” said Kratz.
James Weaver, Director of Secondary Programs, welcomed everyone in attendance. District Superintendent and CEO Scott A. Budelmann, along with MOBOCES Board of Education President Suzanne Carvelli, addressed the Class of 2025 and shared their congratulations.
Students in this year’s graduating class were from: Camden, Canastota, Chittenango, Hamilton, Madison, Morrisville-Eaton, NYSSD, Oneida, Oriskany, Remson, Rome, Stockbridge Valley, VVS, Utica, and Whitesboro.
After the ceremony, families gathered for photos around the Grandstand.
