Welcome Back!

MOBOCES is open for the 2024-25 school year!
Students returned to campus September 4 to crowds of teachers lining the sidewalks to welcome them with hugs, music, cheers, bells and inflatables. In addition to our main campus, students returned to MOBOCES classes based in Morrisville, Rome, Canastota, VVS and Oneida.
We kicked off the week on September 2 and 3 with two Superintendent’s Conference Days to welcome back our instructional staff teams. They attended planning meetings, workshops and presentations to prepare for the year and had time to set up their classrooms.
District Superintendent Scott Budelmann and Board President Pat Baron led off an all-staff meeting to introduce new employees and share their excitement to begin another school year. Budelmann told instructional staff that their commitment to the MOBOCES mission is what keeps students coming back to our programs.
"No student has to go to BOCES. They choose to come here," Budelmann said. "They come for your openness. They come for your tolerance. They come because you help them pave their own pathway."

Beyond our campus, our Staff Development and Management Services teams have been and continue helping our partner school districts prepare for their own school re-openings. This includes:
- Getting cafeterias up and running and school buses on the road
- Professional development work in multiple districts and regional workshops on writing instruction, science curriculum, math programs, co-teaching and play
- Legal and policy training sessions for staff and administrators on the Dignity for All Students Act and other key back-to-school topics led by our Labor Relations team
- Printing calendars, handbooks and agendas, updating websites and communicating with families
- Supporting districts with facilities, technology and other infrastructure needs
