Enhanced IMN 6:1:2 STARRS Program

STARRS

The 6:1:2 program model is designed for elementary students with Intense Behavioral Management needs. Qualifying students will be classified with Learning Disabled, Other Health Impaired, or with Emotional Disabilities. The model focuses on students' cognitive, social, and emotional needs, and places an emphasis on engaging families throughout the education experience. Related services (i.e. Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy) are included. Behavioral therapy is provided in the classroom through collaboration with a Kids Oneida. A social worker (clinical care coordinator) is also available to connect with students and families with appropriate primary care, behavioral, and mental health services to help promote an overall emotional and physical wellness in school, home, and community. The model provides a teacher, two teacher assistants, and a behavior specialist for each classroom.
