Application Requirements
- Online Application – including career goals and essay
- Essay – Complete a response essay on one of the topics below:
- A Person I Admire (who and why)
- An Issue I Feel Strongly About
- What High School Experience Had the Greatest Impact on My Life
- What I Bring to the Table as an Applicant for this Program
- Letter of Recommendation – from a counselor, teacher or adult who can speak to your character and ability (employer, advisor, scout leader, clergy, etc.)
- Transcript – submitted by your counselor
- Interview – participate in an individual panel interview
Application Timeline
January 1: New Visions Student Application opens.
January-March: Prospective students participate in New Visions programming presentation sessions in their home district. Interested 11th graders may meet with their school counselor regarding options or schedule a New Visions program visit.
Friday, March 27, 2026: New Visions Student Application submissions due.
April-May: Panel interviews for applicants (dates subject to change).
June: After all interviews have been completed, decision information will be sent to each applicant’s personal email address and school counselors will be alerted.
Interview Information
- Interviews will be scheduled either directly with the student via email or through the student’s school counselor.
- Students will be required to provide their own transportation to their interviews.
- Each interview will last approximately 15 minutes – please arrive on time!
- Applicants are expected to wear professional attire.

After submitting your application, please ask your school counselor to complete the Counselor Form and email your transcript and any letters of recommendation to newvisionsapps@moboces.org.

Please email a transcript and recommendation letter, if applicable, for each student applying for a New Visions seat, along with the Counselor Form, to newvisionsapps@moboces.org.
