North Broad Elementary hosts first Community Readers Day

Students at North Broad Elementary were recently greeted by some very special guests, as members of the local community came together for the school’s first Community Readers Day held Friday, December 5.
The event welcomed several volunteers from the City of Oneida Police Department and Fire Department, Madison-Oneida BOCES, component districts, and the local community for a morning filled with learning. Each volunteer chose a winter-themed book to read to classrooms throughout the building, along with participating in a book-related activity with students.
Coordinator of Elementary Programs Michael Pagliaro, who helped organize the event, was very appreciative of all the volunteers who helped provide this special memory for the students.
“I believe it is a great experience for students and community members to come together, as it takes a village to raise a child,” Pagliaro said.
