Follow the directions to help build your understanding of where the POG connects with your instruction.

GETTING STARTED
- To begin, download the Building Understanding field guide for your use. There is a .pdf version for easy printing if you want to write on it, and a Word version if you would like to type in the document.

- Below are the links to standards-based samples demonstrating how each of the six (6) components of the POG can be tied to specific content areas and grade levels. Each two-page document shows potential Natural Connections—places where the connections to the POG seem relatively obvious, and Opportunities to Explore—places where connecting to a particualr POG component might need a little more creativity and thought. These are only examples. Use them as a guide to help your processing. Download a content/grade level guide that you would like to explore.
- Follow the directions in the Building Understanding field guide and use the sampler of ideas to explore the Portrait of a Graduate as it relates to your content area and/or grade level.
