Summer Staff Have Another Successful Year
talent showtalent showtalent show

Thanks to our summer staff for a great Extended School Year program this year. The six-week program had so many fun activities and visits from community agencies to give students hands-on learning experiences. And our summer staff got to celebrate with students on the last day by joining in performances during the talent show.

Our opening day speaker for instructional staff this year will be Stanley Leone, author of the memoir "No Place Like Hope." The book chronicles how he overcame a childhood of abuse and poverty with the encouragement and support of a high school teacher, who pushed him to excel and to inspire others.

This is a training that administrators, coordinators and MORIC staff participated in over the summer in an effort to inform our entire campus about responding to a violent emergency situation.

Opening Day activities will be held during Superintendent's Conference Days on September 4 and 5.

Campus Updates

-Longtime Technology Coordinator Tom Moats retired this summer and we are now using the MORIC's new Managed IT Service for our campus technology needs. If you need technical assistance, you can email techsupport[at] or talk to your supervisor/director.

-The final phase of the Rossetti roof replacement project is underway and is expected to be complete by the time classes begin.

-Our Health & Wellness Committee launched a new quarterly newsletter this spring - and the latest summer edition is now out! You can find it - and a lot more information - under the For Staff tab above. Thanks to our H&W Committee members for continuing this work: Jack Angrisano, Tammy Ebersold, Brenda Egelston, Kristin Guinto, Lisa Lee, Cheri Schmalz, Lisa Seitz and Brenda Wolak.

-Adult and Continuing Education has revived its seasonal course catalog. Look for the fall edition online, around campus or in your mailbox at home.
