CTE Thanksgiving Drive

CTE Supports Local Families
Posted on 11/22/2021

The CTE division held a building-wide food drive in November to create holiday food boxes for local families.

Students and staff from all programs brought in non-perishable food and monetary donations to carry on their annual tradition of supporting local families in their own Rossetti community. This year, they added several families from the Special Programs division to their list as well.

In total, 24 families received holiday food boxes!

This was a true team effort.

  • The CTE Community Outreach PLC and the Rossetti Food Pantry organized the entire drive.
  • Our CBOE classes decorated collection boxes and managed the donations.
  • CBOE also coordinated a friendly competition between classes, offering fresh-baked holiday cookie platters to the classes with the greatest donations.
  • Our Culinary Arts classes created pumpkin and apple pies to include in each box.
  • Current and former staff made monetary contributions to help purchase items not collected through donations.
  • Many staff members spent extra time at school sorting donations and creating the boxes, and staff spent the weekend prior to the Thanksgiving break delivering the boxes to students’ homes.

Thanks to everyone to contributed to this campus-wide effort to support our families in need.

CTE has a number of community service efforts in the works to support local families, residents and agencies around the December holidays.
