370 Earn CTE Completion Certificates
Posted on 06/14/2022

Graduating seniors from 23 Career and Technical Education programs earned their CTE completion certificates during a June 13 ceremony held at the Vernon Downs Grandstand. The ceremony was the first time all CTE program have been recognized at the same time and the first time a completion ceremony took place off the MOBOCES main campus.

Hundreds of family, friends, faculty, staff, administrators and board members attended the outdoor evening event to recognize the Class of 2022.

“It was awesome to be able to bring our entire senior class, our faculty and all of our families together in one place for the first time to celebrate these students’ achievements. I’ve never, in all of my years in CTE, been able to see them together as a whole group,” CTE Principal Erin Noto said. “We couldn’t have asked for a better evening to hold our first outdoor completion ceremony.”

During the ceremony, the 370 seniors processed into the arena by class, and students were called up individually to receive their completion certificates. Afterward, families had time to take photos in and around the Grandstand and complex.

This year, Early Childhood Education student Grace Smith, of Morrisville-Eaton, led the Pledge of Allegiance. Hamilton student Declan Wilson, who completed both Manufacturing Technology and New Visions Engineering this year, delivered the keynote speech.

“Both of these classes helped me grow and change in different ways and I will miss them both dearly,” he said. “BOCES has changed me, changed my life, and changed my world forever.”
