16 Students Qualify for SkillsUSA States
Posted on 02/22/2023

Sixteen MOBOCES students qualified for the SkillsUSA State Competition in April after earning top-three finishes in their contests at the regional meet, held earlier this month.

SkillsUSA is a national education-industry partnership that allows students to compete in career-focused contests to demonstrate technical, employment and leadership skills. Students in CTE programs compete locally and regionally to qualify for slots at the state, national and international levels.

Fifty CTE students represented MOBOCES at regionals, held on February 10 at SUNY Morrisville. The team earned 11 awards – nine for individual students and two for team events – include four 1st place finishes.

The 16 students who qualified for states, to be held in April in Syracuse, represent 10 different events, seven area high schools and six CTE programs.
